Gateway Church’s CAP Job Club
The last couple of years have been tough for many people, for many different reasons. Unemployment and redundancy rates are currently increasing, and Covid-19 has added to the uncertainty. It can be daunting to look for a new job, and it can sometimes feel hard to make your CV stand out from the crowd.
Are you currently trying to find a job and think you’d benefit from some practical tools to help you get started? Gateway Church have partnered with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to run our first job club.
What is a job club?
CAP Job Clubs help jobseekers gain the tools, skills, and confidence to step back into employment. Our combined practical and emotional support is why the Department of Work and Pensions highly recommends our service.
What is involved?
You’ll follow an 8-week course which will walk you through each step of the job-hunting process. You’ll learn to identify your skills and strengths, gather tips to help you write an eye-catching CV, and brush up on those essential interview tips.
All our Job Clubs are free and run by trained volunteers who will spend 1-1 time with you, providing tailored support and coaching to help you reach your goals. You’ll also have the benefit of group support, meeting other job seekers in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Do I need to be a Christian to get involved?
No, our services are for everyone of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities. As Christians we believe in the power of prayer, so we will be praying at the start of each session and we may offer to pray for you throughout the course, but it’s up to you if you’d like to take part in this.
What next?
We’ll be running our first course in the next few months and we would love to hear from you.
